First of all, don't worry about becoming an alcoholic, like those other answers said. From what you've described, you're nowhere near having a problem like that. Occasional wine is actually good for your health.
The reason alcohol causes weird dreams is that it interferes with your sleep cycle and can either block or deepen the stage of sleep that causs vivid dreams. If it bothers you, try avoiding it late at night and having it with dinner or in the afternoon instead.

It is not necessary to drink large quantities but if you had been drinking for a long time say more than 10 years regularly then some chemistry is the brain is changing and first one gets nightmares and later on this will go into black outs ( you do not know what you did but for others you look normal) The best thing would be to take plenty of vitamin C 2 gms ( 2000mg) per day and after 2 or 3 days you will become normal. However I would suggest you to stop drinking or give a break for atleast 1 month. All the best.

well if you are taking anti-depressents, then that could be the reason.
i usually drink enough, and when i was on zoloft, i was have terrible nightmares, even when i didnt drink.
now if you dont use these kinds of meds, then my best guess is you are sesitive to alchohol, or you have panic attacts while you sleep, when alcohol is consumed.
just be glad that you arent having seizers when you drink, but you claim that you dont drink that much so that cant be possible, it happens alot to alcoholics.
well the only advice i can give you is before you go to bed, drink a glass of water, eat something like a snack nothing to heavy on the stomach, just relax.
i know that its easier said then done but try these methods.
drink around people you are extremly comfortable with, in a laid back atmosphere and just take a few deep breaths and ahhh, you might feel a bit better.
or if not ...just dont drink then ok hun
good luck
i hopr this helps

sounds EXACTLY like the early stages of alcoholism. Not a pleasant thought,
but worth investigating because it only GETS WORSE.
Why not talk with a physician who DEALS WITH ALCOHOLISM at a local
facility and go to a few AA meetings to get information -- I understand the book Alcoholic Anonymous describes several patterns of which you MAY or MAY NOT find that they describe you. At least you'd have two CONCRETE
sources from which to determine your problems. JUST BE HONEST.
Remember -- a doctor can't diagnose an illness without HONEST info and
you probably wouldn't ever see them again anyway.

Have any alcoholics in your family? Heard a few horror stories about the effects of drinking? Maybe your subconsicous is trying to tell you something like, don't drink. Problems with alcohol aren't limited to addiction. Some people don't drink because they find they become angry, sad, get headaches, vomit, etc. And I'm not talking about people who drink large amounts. You're reason may need to be because it causes unpleasant dreams.

i dunno, i know that the more you drink the more you go into a deeper sleep, also sleep walking is linked to coming out too fast from deep sleeps so maybe there might be a link there....but generally if your only having one or two glasses then it should make you restless and unable to sleep....strange eh?
