We read about Gog and Maggog in the Bible and the Koran.Who are they?

Both religious texts mention the people of Gog and Maggog but mystery surrounds their identity,anyone care to figure out?

Gog and Magog are the two mystical forces which would be contending with God at the end times. The book of Revelation tells us that Gog and Magog will muster all their hordes at the end times and make war with God and the saints at the plains of Megiddo. Although many biblical scholars would try to interpret these writings as coded messages of the first century church, written to describe their current situation, these two forces eventually mean to be two different forces that would stand against God.

The Gog and Magog are two nations.

Read the story of Dhu’l-Qarnayn and how he dealt with this nation in Surat al-Kahf. They exist and the barrier which was built is a physical barrier built of iron and melted copper. Allah has told us the story of the Muslim king and the great leader Dhu’l-Qarnayn (may Allah have mercy on him) in the Qu'raan.

The Gog and Magog were made powerless to scale the barrier or to dig through it. These nations exist at present, and are attempting on a daily basis to get out and attack people.

In the hadeeth reported by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): “The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said that Gog and Magog are digging every day until they can almost see sunlight, then the one who is in charge of them says, “Go back, we will dig again tomorrow.” Then Allah restores (the barrier) and makes it stronger than it was. (This will continue) until the appointed time. When Allah wishes to send them against the people, they will dig until they can almost see sunlight, then the one who is in charge of them will say, “Go back, we will dig again tomorrow, in sha Allah (if Allah wills).” This time he will say “in sha Allah”, so when they come back (the next day), they will find it as they left it, so they will dig their way out and emerge to attack the people. They will dry up water (by drinking it, because of their great numbers), and the people will seek to protect themselves from them in their fortresses. They will fire their arrows into the sky, and the arrows will come back down covered in blood (as a test for them), and they will say, “We have defeated the people of the earth and have gained the upper hand over the people of heaven.” Then Allah will send worms on the napes of their necks, which will kill them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the beasts of the earth will grow fat from their flesh.” (Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 3298)

It generally refers to them in the North... if you were asking me about this I'd say Russia is Gog and Maggog is its (apparently) break away republics.

The sequence would look like this. (Theory)
Israel (or someone) levels Damascus in one day.
Russia and its allies (except China) attack Israel and gets its butt kicked. (see weapons of war burn for seven years)
China (the kings of the east)with a 200 million man army marches on Jerusalem and we see Armageddon, massive casulities.

Other interesting notes on bible prophecy... it says the true Christians will be beheaded for their belief in God (I'm watching radical Islam very closely- they are the only ones who behead)
Its says 1/3 of man will die, 1/3 of the fish, the boats, the grass will be destroyed...this sounds like a nuclear war...possibly between India and Pakistan in a few years 1/3 of the earths population will be in those countries alone.

Gog represents Satan and his demons…. Magog is a place where they will eventually be thrown into for destruction. KORAN is Muslim’s Bible.
