Since you all ready have a male, try a female. I have always had females, and a few males in between. Females stay much closer to the home, and don't stray as much. Males are males, sexed or desexed. If you get a female, and have it spayed, there is no reason the male would not get along with her. Maybe at first just so he can let the female know he is the leader of the pack, but I think you will have much enjoyment with both male & female together.

If you have a large house, buy a cheap book about dog breeding and get a female. Read about which dogs make proper mixes, or if you want a purebreed, get another cavaier kings charles! then when they're a little older they can get puppies! After the puppies are a few months old, you can go get the whole family fixed! Then you'll have a safe, healthy adorable little dog family!

If i were you ....i would get a male - much easier as females have their periods and the surgery is cheaper for a male ! Plus ur make dog now will always want to do the sex thing even if she fixed !
i also think males are more fun ....just my opinion, but go with your gut feeling !!
Hope it works out for ya : )

1. Female dogs are said to be easier to train than males.
2. They are likely to be more docile, a desirable trait for city living.
3. Some dog lovers consider females more affectionate and companionable, though in loyalty to the memory of my male dog, Benjy, and my childhood dog, Laddie, I have to question that.
4. A female dog can hold her urine longer than a male--some can wait as long as twelve hours if necessary--which might be an advantage in a household where no one is home during the day.
5. On walks, a female will usually empty her bladder all at once. A male dog may urinate in little spurts her and there, and it can seem to take him forever to relive himself, especially on cold winter nights.
Cons: Female Dogs
1. It is more expensive to spay a female than to neuter a male.
Keep in mind that there is no evidence that one sex is more intelligent than the other. And if you live in a situation where your dog is free to relieve itself in a fenced yard, the dog-walking considerations are no longer as crucial.

I personally have had better luck with females, to me they seem easier to train, and they are less likely to mark territories. If you want another male I would wait till after the other one is fixed

maybe you should try having a female for a change, since you have males already. if you decide to breed puppies in the future, you can! you can pay for a stud and breed puppies and decide if you want to sell your puppies or keep them =)

two males together are better than two females together. i have two male shelties now and they get a long. i am glad that you are having the one you have neutered and the new one will be done also.
