Don't go in trying to "act sick." That's so phony and people see right through it. You have a doctor's note like your supervisor requested. Just turn it in and do your job. If you think s/he is "pissed" because you missed work, how much better are things going to be if you drag around acting like you're at death's door once you're there? If asked, just explain that you weren't feeling well, the doctor checked you out, said it was just a "bug," and now you're feeling better. There you go!

You didn't say why you dreaded going to work....do you hate your job? And you need to know that one of the biggest problems employers have is have faithful workers who don't try to get days off when they don't need to....so maybe you have taken off more before?
It probably isn't a good idea to continue to work where you hate it....so if there is a reason, why don't you start looking for one you will like more? And at this point, just say you are sorry you had to be out and you are feeling better unless you want to really explain to the supervisor what is really going on with you. If you do that, he might not understand...and you might be out of a job....
So decide....do you want this job....and would you like to get a better one? It's better to do that "while" you are still working, not after you have lost it!

He asked for a Dr. note after only one day of calling in sick? That is rediculous! I think there is some law that states, employers can only ask for a Dr. note after 2 or 3 days of missing work. I could be wrong, but regardless, I would start looking for a better job!!

Did you say sick as in cold? if not act like it was a stomach problem that always works . When you go in tomorrow talk about how you had to spend the entire day on the potty and say I hope this isn't contagious as you hand the Doctors excuse to your supervisor.

Tough shite if he's pissed. If you went to the doctor and have a note, then I guess you were really sick. So your conscience is clear. Show him the note when you first arrive, and go to your job. Don't even give him the chance to start with you. You're within your rights.

It's possible he didn't believe you were ill enough to be off work, but if you have a doctor's note, you must have been... thus you have nothing to worry about. He can't punish you in any way because you have proof that you were unwell - if he is rude to you, apologize for being off but say you will catch up on any work missed.
Try not to worry, you have yourself covered.

As long as you got the Doctors note, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. He asked for it, and you got it. Chill out and enjoy the time off.
