Well i hope you have a great holiday,

it is a job to know what travel prices, are doing just now !

If you are driving --
Dover to Calaise Ferry ,is your shortest run , and therefore the cheapest route ,
but driving all the way to Languedoc , is time consuming and tireing especialy with children .

Flying is cheaper but you still need to travel on ---- to your destination. ;

Their railway system in France ,is good and efficient ( so that may be an idea ....)

Some of the* package deals *
you can get, are very good price-wise
and include all types of travel to and from ( a graet help if you have children to go with )

A good travel agent
,will also give you all the options ;
That would be your best bet, IMO
they will see to everything and consider,
what price you can pay as well .
( they have some very good deals )

Good hunting ==== Have a great holiday !

Hi

I commute Languedoc London about 10 times per year.

Cheapest I can find is by air.

The way to get cheap tickets is :

1)Book early
2)Look for new routes - they are less full, so cheaper
3)Avoid Thursday - Saturday for London - Languedoc
4)Avoid Friday to Monday Languedoc - London
5)Check regular flights too. Sometimes AF / BA have good prices
6)Check some of the routes from smaller airports
7)Some Spanish airports are close to Languedoc. They also benefit from cheaper car hire

I have travelled to France recently, i found that the best way to go is by train.

If you follow the link below to Yahoo! Travel you can find out a lot of information and search for the best prices and the best ways to travel.

i hope this helps.

Try ryanair.com or easyjet.com perhaps?! The will get you to France, not necessarily the part of France you are after though
