Oh well. Generally its a name for a pre-scientific concept of an intangible thing that gives you thought and emotion.
Now we have a maturing subject called neurobiology it makes you wonder why anyone would be ignorant enough to believe they have one at all but many people do.

Religion is based on faith, believing without seeing. Science is based on facts. Religion says we have a soul that keeps our body alive. Science has proven that energy does. Religion says our soul lives after our body dies. Science proves that energy never dies. Maybe they speak of the same thing?
