also what are you doing to help yourself not be depressed. do you do things that make you happy, are you happy with your job, do you exercise?

I understand that depression is manifested by a chemical imbalance in the brain and drugs help to equalize things. But, if your not doin positive things in your life and depending on chemicals to improve your situation your on a guarenteed loosing battle. Over time, the external things that influence your depression, which WILL NOT go away because you took a pill, as opposed to dealing with them, will cause your depression to worsen and then the imbalance will worsen, and the pill will no longer be effective.

People are not born depressed, depression is a result of influences, that are in our daily lives and how we deal with them. when we allow them to overwhelm us and depression sets in, then drugs may be needed to get you jumpstarted, but YOU have to take charge of your life and do something.

Anti-depressants like all drugs build up a resistance over time. So you then find you need different and stronger drugs to fight the depression.

Talk to your Doctor about using alternative medicine to combat depression. I used a naturopath to fight my depression and i am now taking no conventional drugs to treat it.

Your body adapts to the medicine. This is not uncommon. This is why you need consistent medical follow-up if you are on any medication. Be honest with your doctor and tell them how you are feeling. But it is not unusual for this to occur.

Our body gets used and adapts to them.
