Im surrounded by people with babies or having them and although i laugh off the suggestion of me having one when asked, deep down i secretly long for the whole experience myself. I have been married for 4 years this year and my husband is wonderful we have a great life and are in a situation now where a baby would be great, the only thing is im so scared of having a baby, the pain the changes in my body! etc i want to experience that, but i dont like the sound of it, if you know what i mean im so confused, i know this is probaly natural to feel apprehensive about chidbirth, all my friends have had there babies quite quickly with not any probs but i know i will be the odd one out! But i know if i carry on like this the years will pass and we will remain childless!! has anyone else felt like this? plus i think if we have a baby my mother in law will probaly take off with it and pass it off as her own (grabber grannie syndrome) but thats another story!!

That sounds to me like a perfectly sensible train of thought on the idea of having a baby - you're seeing the downsides as well as the up. What that says to me is that, if you do decide to go ahead and have a baby, you'll do fine, becuase you aren't viewing everything through rose-tinted glasses and thinking only of the cutesie-wootsie little baby; you're thinking of the effects it would have on you and your life as well.

Clearly I can't tell you what to do - only you can make this decision. But you're right in saying this is a very natural way to feel. And you know what? I bet, if you ask them, you'll find that a lot of your friends with babies felt exactly the same.

Hope this helps!

Dont worry, this is not a new situation, many have this thought ,but do not tell it out, that's all. You start taking Dr.bach flower remedies (natural and no side effects) which are for the emotions/feelings and they take you or make you decide and make you face it withot any problem

All I can say is. You could line 10 women up , have them tell there child birth or pregnancy fears and every single story would be different. Its just something you have to experience on your on. I think its wonderful.

I suppose it depends how much you want it. I have 2 kids and my stomach muscles are wrecked, my tummy is totally wrinkly, I got stiches twice and I get piles but guess what? It was worth it and thats what you do when you want kids. You need to weigh up both sides and if you don't want kids, that's no biggie either. not everyone does.
