They were over 900 years old according to the bible. Still, that wasn't much to be proud of in those days, its not like they'd have learnt more or become more wise - after all God's how attitude to the tower of Babel shows that he wants to keep humans ignorant for his own purposes.
Frankly I have to take the Old Testament with a pinch of salt - its all fiction. It can actually be checked against historic accounts which it does not tally with. Even in Genesis there are two accounts of creation, actually written by two authors, then God says after the flood 'I will not smite anymore' then a couple of pages later he's raining fire and brimstone down upon Sodom & Gamorrah.
So no, they didn't exist. Evolution shoud make you realise that the facts are unless you listen to figures in authority tell you it would be 'evil' to look at scientific facts.
Any organic being can replicate exponentially given time. Its a better question to why we've reproduced so slowly. Think of the spanish flu pandemic, all the other viruses that much have effected mankind.

Simply.... They weren't the only human beings.
Stop taking the Biblical stories (especially those of the OT) so literally.
The same Old Testament that said the Earth was created in 6 days says that Adam and Eve were the first humans.
How do I know this is untrue.... Because it took BILLIONS OF YEARS to create the earth.
oh and also.... Men are not lacking a rib compared to women.... thus women were NOT made from the one rib of a man.

A bit older than 35.000 years;)
The first 'Homo Sapiens' breed (the one Annunaki called ADAMA= One Who like the Earth's Clay is) was 'created' in a genetics lab around that time; then a femal was created too, her name was Ti-Amat = Lady of Life; as they were hybryds though, they couldn't reproduce; so another brand new couple was 'created' (genetically engineered), a male and a female who could and actually reproduced. They were not paricularly 'skilled' though, so another couple of children, of an enhanced breed (half-Annunaki)of Homo Sapiens, was conceived and brough forth, one male and one female, they were named Adapa (= The Foundling) and Titi( One with Life); they were the First Civilized ones = Homo Sapiens, and they were actually the ones the Bile call Adam and Eve. They had 2 twins: Ka-in (= He who in the field Food Grows) and Abael(= He of the Watered Meadows)...From there the story goes on;)
Scientific tests on the DNA of Neanderthales PROVED that Homo Sapiens didn't descend from them; Homo Sapiens was a brand nee breed with a totally different DNA and features (he could speak, his skull had room for a bigger brain and he could build houses, shelters and sophisticatec wreapons, other than clothes); Homo Sapiens has no known ancestors, and the fact that for a period of time Neanderthales and Homo Sapiens (or Cro-Magnon) co-existed proves too that the second one didn't 'Evolve' from the first one;)

Genesis 5:5
So all the days of Adam that he lived amounted to nine hundred and thirty years and he died.
And remember that Adam and Eves offspring lived for a lot longer as well. After the flood there were only 8 people, and everyone today comes from them. Even Noah himself lived a very long time.
Genesis 9:28-29
And Noah continued to live three hundred and fifty years after the deluge. So all the days of Noah amounted to nine hundred and fifty years and he died.
As people became less and less perfect though, the shorter their lifespan became until Jehovah God caused it remain stationary.

They where just a biblical story from Genesis in the old testament to explain the creation of the human mind as it is today, it does not represent the actual form but the transition from animal to human, for example animals do not know what death actualy means. When they ate from the tree of knowledge it represents the time when humans left the animal state of mind,
and started to become civilised.
If this is paradise, I wish I had a lawn mower.

never mind the myths from Genesis.
Studies of the human Genome (that is the pool of Genes that all humans have) indicate that about 200000 years ago, Probably in Africa, there was one woman from whom all modern humans descended, and there were 4 different men from whom all humans descended.
so about 200000 years ago there was a real woman and not a myth.
in 200000 years there passed about 10000 generations of humans, and that is long enough for the human population to multiply itself several times more than the present world population, but of course, with wars, plagues and other reasons many humans died young, without having children.

Up untill a certain part of the bible that I dont remember most people lived until they were over 900 years old.
So Adam and Eve would have lived until around then and then would have been able to have many children.

i am sure, looking back at history and science, that it does speak of the Neandothrals being here a long time before Adam and Eve!. But if A & E did exsist, they'd be hundreds of years old, not millions!

Djmantx's answer was somewhat correct. Actually Adam lived for 960 (lunar) years. This makes it around 930 solar years.
At last...Djmantx is beginning to cite from Islamic sources. Good for you; old man!

They didn't exist, and the world is not as young as some people would have you think. There has been plenty of time for life on this planet to evolve.
