I propose that to completely remove the link between people who accept evolution and Evolutionism (as in the communist/Marxist philosophy), we now use the term "evolutionaries".
I personally think this carries a more positive tone. What's your opinion?

Scientist doesn't work, it implies that one holds a scientific education/career of some kind.

In academic circles, the debate is referred to as "evolution vs. creationism", and that is quite accurate. I see no need for any new terminology.

I don't agree with Scientist, that's a person who practices science professionally. Not exactly familiar with the Marxist theory of Evolutionism but it occurs a lot in philosophy for two views to have the same word: Naturalist (Capital N) Earth loving nudist. naturalist (small n) philisophical belief that there exists only one plane of existence and it is the material world we experience.
I would suggest Darwinian but evolution has expanded since he first proposed the idea. Mendellian? Again not the most contemporary.
Ohh, how about Mutants? Mutation in it's scientific definition is incredibly common as it accounts for any chemical process that corrupts the original strand of DNA. It's proposed that in species mutation occurs naturally throughout a creautre's lifetime as the strain of endlessly copying DNA into new growing cells creates discrepancies. Over millions of generations it is even proposed that mutation is necessary alongside inheritance and natural selection to create a new species, the random variations stopping a gene pool from stagnating whilst abilities are being honed and developed.

no, the proper word is 'scientist'. All accusations towards evolution (such as 'evolutionists say this or that') are always made by creationists. This makes them easy to spot.
No serious scientist will designate himself 'evolutionist' nor 'evolutionary', although I got a chuckle out of it.
