Two options:

1. Dispute it. Creditors have so many days to reply to disputes or the credit reporting agency pulls the information from your report. However, this is not likely to happen. I had two bad marks on my credit from where my mom put utilities in my name it took me months to get them off there and that was even me sending information proving that during that time I lived at another address. I also had an old bill show up from when my daughter was born. I never got the bill for it because my mom (or step dad) never gave it to me. They just tossed it in a drawer. (I found it a year later!) They refused to remove it since they couldn't prove that I DIDN'T get it. So, fair warning it you try this - it is not easy and in most cases (if the report is ligit) is impossible.

2. You pay your bills on time, watch your spending (don't go over 35% of your credit limits) and let time take over. It's not easy, but over time your score will start to increase.

Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have... however there exists a solution.

I will hereby talk from my personal experience.

I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details,
if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan, however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first,
