LOL! Once you regain your sanity, you're in no hurry to give it up again. I see people deconvert to atheism here, not the other way around. It isn't as though religion puts forth a very convincing argument. I can be happy, mentally healthy, rational, and moral without believing claims that have not been proven to be true, and I like living that way. Religion's empty threats and unfounded assertions have no effect upon me whatsoever, and they never will.

Ok, for starters the word "Atheist" is wrong. Many claim they are atheists and they do not know what it means.... It means without God.. Word is greek and so am I....
Most of these people are Religionless not atheists, and that is why all religions cannot cope with the information we have access to these days. They were meant to guide sheep and a lot of people do not like to be treated as such.
I do believe there is something out there. But why do I have to put it in a silly frame that some guy made up thousands of years ago? A frame that was created by a man, was taught to others by men and was passed from generation to generation by even more men... (by men I mean humans). Where is the divinity of that?? Just because someone said that God gave him the 10 commandments I have to believe that? Many prophets of many religions said that their God(s) gave them orders, vision, dreams, popcorn or whatever... why believe one and not the other?
That is what Religionless is. To discard the immature framework of religions and prefer to view the world gathering pieces of theories that best fit one's view of life.
Now being an atheist, which is what most atheists are NOT, is to be a complete and total pragmatist that does not EVER accept the existence of anything beyond the mundane and human. For an atheist there is no supernatural since that would be to accept that there is indeed a force larger and more powerful than him/her.
So before declaring "I am an atheist", it is best to think what you really believe in.
And to answer your question. I dont think why a forum in which people question Religions would make anyone believe more in them.. And as far as real life is concerned. I think it becomes obvious every single day that no God, of any Religion is the Good and Loving father described... Cause I cannot imagine a father that sits back and watches his children die of war, disease, lack of water, lack of food, etc... Real life only verifies that people should skip the "Believe in me and you shall find peace" thing and start "believing in each other and MAKE peace"...

After hanging around on this forum for a couple of months I am more atheist than ever. Plus I have increased my knowledge of evolution, reproduction, cosmology and a million other subjects. And I met some interesting people, and some interesting whackjobs. But I have seen no evidence that would make me even reconsider.

Is the implication that something happens in the R&S section that gives evidence of a god?
Because all I see here, elsewhere on the internet, and in real life is the same arguments for God that have been repeatedly refuted.
Still no evidence, still an atheist. That simple.

I believe that the world is not black and white, this is in contradiction to religion. The thought of having a god and a devil is far too simple. It is totally illogical to believe in something that everybody tells you to believe in when there is no evidence to support the idea and a mountain of evidence against it.

The more a person of faith tries to convince an Atheist about something the more the Atheist thinks that the person of faith is the one that needs the convincing.

I am not an atheist.
I am agnosticist.
I believe sincerely, that it is not possible with what we know and with our senses to say if god exists or not.
If you look at all religions ar there any which seems more believable than others?

Are you asking why I haven't suddenly lost my mind and become delusional?
Just lucky, I guess.
