Muslim,
America is NOT normal, no. And most people realize that and CAN say that--as opposed to what people cannot say in other countries because they are afraid of being BLOWN UP!

assalam o alikum,
in my country (pakistan) we dont pay for incoming calls since year 2000. before this the rates were too high. but now its affordable.
+ some service provider charge persecond, while other gives free first 30 second, and if u continue then u have to pay (but this is with same network)
we have almost 5 service providers. so here is very tough competition
hey, in ur question u said "No other (normal) country does this!!!!!!!!!!!! Why???!!!!!!!!!!!" so u want to say america is not a normal country??? americans will mind. plz takecare of their emotions as well

I hate cellphone companies but I think a minute is a minute. What I do think is that they should give you the first minute for free on an incoming call. That way you wouldn't have to pay for people who might be telemarketers or people who have the wrong number. If you don't recognize the number, you shouldn't have to wait for a voice message to determine whether or not to waste a minute and call them back.

Your element is smart if both callers are using an identical cellular telephone community. yet when callers are using diverse carriers, why might want to your provider enable you take advantage of thier community for loose once you recieve an incoming call ? for sure the easist way round this, is to easily signal in for a cellular telephone plan that does no longer can charge for incoming calls.

Because your service provider wants to earn money too, as well as the other person's provider. So, when they call they are charged, and your provider charges for the incoming call, to have profit.
