SETTING: a prison cell w/ a dirt floor, stone walls, no window but a skylight high up in the ceiling; no furniture except for a mattress... ACTION: d prisoner who was in the cell, manages 2 escape through the skylight... HOW DID D PRISONER ESCAPE!??! pls help me answer this hard question! PLEEEEEAAASSEEE! ! !

Simple, the ceiling is 6 feet high or it's within his reach.

Can't figure that one out. He might have been able to dig enough dirt with his hands to make a pile high enough to reach the skylight. But did he escape OUT of the cell or INTO it? It just said he WAS in it. It doesn't indicate for sure whether or not he was in or out of it at the time. So, was he STILL in it and escaped OUT of it or could he have been OUT and wanted back INTO the cell and climbed in through the skylight? Be sure to post the answer when you get it.

Yeah, I think that either he :
Bounced on the mattress until he could jump out,
OR
He made a long rope out of that mattress and escaped though the skylight
OR
HE was always out. They never said that the prisoner was INSIDE the cell, did they???

simple the cell was small that the person and the matress was able to reach the cell and the skylight is outside the jail so he escaped from the door. Because in reality common sense is used

There was a large block of ice on the floor. He climbed onto it and reached the skylight. The ice melted and soaked into the dirt by the time the escape was discovered.

If it has a dirt floor, I would guess that the prisoner was able to dig enough dirt to build himself a ramp up to the ceiling, and pulled himself through the skylight.

After looking at the skylight it was getting dark, he laid on the mattress and knock himself out.
