Hitler believed that the Jews were "Christ killers" and that Jesus wanted him to avenge his death (this from Hitler's own speeches). The Nazis who exterminated those Jews were Christians, so you tell me how powerful "God" was then.

I think the perspective is all wrong when someone asks a question such as this. The question isn't 'why did GOD allow this to happen', rather, it should be 'why did WE as humans allow it to happen?' God is not the CAUSE of these types of horrid events, we are.

God allows us complete freedom of our actions according to our free will. So if we abuse that freedom by not responding with love for God and our neighbor, we bring problems upon ourselves.

Humans can be pretty depraved and messed up...do we fault God for our choices? Yes, he could have made us incapable of sinning. That would make us nothing more than mindless robots never having choices in life. Evil exists in this world, and the blame for horrific acts of inhumanity rests upon our own depraved human nature.

Does God really owe us anything? I mean, we've done sooo much for Him: perfectly taking care of our planet, loving and assisting our neighbor, praising God for all the blessings we have... We do all those things so well, and he can't even bail us out when we screw up? No, God isn't some genie that we call on when its convenient for us. Like our own parents would do: God allows us to make mistakes, in hopes that we will learn and grow from those mistakes....

Because the 'Biblical God' always intended to get rid of Mankind;) since the very beginning he tried to get rid if it 'sending' the Geat Flood, then he tried to ged rid of his own chosen people by sending them terrible plagues;) it's funny how believers do actually believe in God and entrust him with their lives;) after all they claim he did;)

An explaination to WHY the Biblical God is so wrathful is given by the Sumerians;) They report that, among the Annunaki= Those who from Heaven to Earth came, there were two brothers, two Lords (not immortail, neither omnipotent though); one of them 'created' mankind in a lab through genetic engineering, enhancing and changing the DNA of a pre-existing two-legged Earthling being; the other one, who was always against that project, instead, always tried to get rid of Mankind and decided to let it all perish during the Deluge first (which occurred because of a Planetary turmoil) and during the natural plagues then ;) the fact that there were two 'Lords' explain WHY, the Biblical God is loving and merciful in some chapters, and so angry and wrathful in some others;)...I don't believe in any God, but even admitting, for mere sake of argument, that such a character (s) existed, I see no reason why Mankind should accept (as believers do) to become his/their slaves;)

Almighty God has set a time when ALL our earthly problems will be solved in one stroke.
The death of so many people to us is horrific, because to us it is so permanent.
But not so to God.
Read Revelation 20; 12,13
All the dead will be resurrected.
and everyone will have a chance to know and comply with God's standards.
Those not willing to comply will not " inherit God's Kingdom"
Where is that Kingdom for those who do?
On the earth. Psalms 37; 9,11,29,34

Those 6 and a half million will get another chance.
Hitler and his deputies may not.

God works in mysterious ways. Many miracles from God came out of such a horrific and evil tragedy..,,many people saw that only God could have performed them....people were saved literally...lots turned to Him.....so many things that would not have happened had there not been such a tragedy.
God allows some things for a reason..everything has a purpose and we do not always know why etc..that is where faith comes in..faith that He knows exactly why.

think first of the question that you are asking....
if you never heard of god who then would you blame?
in your question the name Hitler is present .
you know and i know that there is no intervention to be
expected.humanity is its own god, albeit a weak one at that.
the power which you question does not come from heaven,
but from earth. our love of killing is inherent in all. the Jews
were but on the bad end of an evil individual and his kind.
the power to dominate others is in the human psychi.
when it gets out of control it is disasterous. it is just as easy to
question why did the devil do this?

intervene? He instigated the whole thing! Who do you think laid the groundwork with centuries of antisemitism? Could it be ...

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

My question is how there could be any Orthodox Jews left. If God allowed the systematic murder of half the world's Christians, wouldn't it make you have second thoughts about a benevolent, protecting God?

I don't suppose it's up to us do decide how God handles a situation nor do I think it's up to us to decide what should or should not be done with 6 million people's lives.

Why didn't he do what you would like him to have done?

That question is the reason we are not God or Gods.

If God is so powerful, why did he not get down from the cross?

Can you question God's power or only his use of his power?

The Jews have been society's b1tches ever since the dawn of civilization. Only in modern times are they standing up for themselves. For all we know, God was sick of His Chosen People getting kicked around, and needed a wake-up call like the Holocaust to show them what can happen if they don't stand up for themselves.

I've asked the same thing when millions of Africans were enslaved and brought to America and Europe. I saw the light in high school when I realized god does not exist.
