I have fallen in love with a girl who is 13 and since i am 16 turning 17 i believe that it is too big of an age gap even for love if it must because i could go to prision if i touch her in any position on her body even if i dont have sex and also everyone would believe i am a pedophille, and i am not even attracted that way to her, so can someone help me forget it.
So i am seeking your help to just clean my plate and get over her even if i have known her for 9 years as friends and do you think i should remain friends ? because i believe it is time to move forward and i am destined for a lonely life anyway.

And if you believe i should wait, because i think she has a crush on me and has been waiting for a number of years how should i do that and when should i ask her out as in date because she knows my feeling's and i told her i will try to get rid of them, but it is long distance so it should be easier to get over it ?

So can you help me with this ?

Thank you

Sorry never used this thing before.

Age of consent is 16 in Australia so it would be 3 years, does a 19 turning 20 year old dating a 16 year old freak you out ?

Also do you think it would be okay to remain friends like we used to for those 9 years ?

As i have explained i already told her my feelings but i have never acted on them so do you think i should send her a Valentines card saying this, and if you where her mother would this freak you out ?

That's not that big an age difference in the long run, but at this point, it's definitely going to get you into trouble, big, big time. Can you say "jail bait"?

Keep it cool. Five years is a really long time, so don't just wait for her. Go ahead and date others, because you'll learn a lot about yourself that way. If it really is something special, five years from now it'll still be there.

You are wise to refrain from acting on your feelings. As you have said yourself, the only thing in your future if you do would be a jail term.
Socialise with girls your own age, you will find someone you can fall in love with without having to be afraid of the legal repercussions.
