Most likely rebellion! In fact, over control of anything might lead to rebellion. Extreemism leads to extreemism.
Teenages are at the cross road of their lives; between childhood and "maturity". There are a lot of false attractions and distructions around them, day in day out. They are under enourmous stress to comform and immitate.
The last thing they need is another pressure at home!
They need help, advice, encouragement and greater care so they are not easily influenced by the many negative attractions around them. Otherwise, they may believe that the vast majority of their mates are right and worthy of being followed and immitated.
Parents, on the other hands, do not want to see their children go astrey, their lives being destroyed, etc., etc. Their ultimate goals is to protect their children. Hence, the welfare of their children is of paramount importance. This is something which needed to be discussed and be made clear between the parents and the teenage child.
Its only the unwise parents would try to over control their teenage children, regardless.

Its common for girls, when overcontrolled during their childhood/teen years to go wild after they turn 18 or anytime they have an opportunity for that matter. Over protection doesn't do anyone any favors in the long run. Some of life's lessons just need to be learned through experience. How could you deny your child that right? My parents gave me alot of freedom and I'm a very calm and collected person. I don't sleep around and I have my sexual urges well under control.

i dont know ......i lucked out and got boys
but i was very controled as a kid and i turned out fine. i only see my head doctor 2 times a week. <--- kidding
it really depends on why and to what extent. most teenage girls need to be a bit MORE controled and teen drinking, teen pregnancy, and other silly teen mistakes will go down.

Depends, for the safety of their child perhaps...especially girls, cos they tend to get cheated by jerks most of the time. But if they are over control for something normal n small, then i think they need to loosen up.
