I thinking of getting a dog and I live in Australia. Holistic select dog food looks like a good brand and isn't too expensive well I don't think so. Is it more compared to other brands? i wouldn't know so tell me if it's cheaper, same or expensive.
Also is it healthy?
Tell me anything about it if you've used it.
Go to www.petdeli.com.au to have a look at it and decipher the ingredients for me and tell me if it's healthy or not.
Thanks!

It appears to be a good quality kibble. However the breed that i raise can not tolerate beet pulp, so it isn't one that I could choose. (causes calcium deficient rickets)
beet pulp also causes gas in the snub nosed dogs.
the fish base will be somewhat stinky. I fed my dogs Abady's fish based food, and it did smell up the house, with several indoor dogs.
But, it seems to be a good food, with varied good wholesome ingredients.

As I live in USA, I couldn't tell you how prices compare..

I am a huge, huge fan of the Holistic Select. I am not a fan of Canidae's ingredient line-up, not the ingredients per say but the percentages of them and how those ingredients digest in the body. All of Holistic Select's formulas are designed to NOT aggravate the GI tract and are a great choice. The same company owns the Wellness formulas but Holistic Select is a step up from Wellness. Their Duck & Oatmeal formula is FANTASTIC and is the only choice I go to for dogs that show any signs of digestive issues or yeast problems or allergies. My boys get the Holistic Select senior formula, which is also a weight management formula. Then there is their chicken choice. By the way, my nutritional education is for canines only. I don't know anything about cat food or nutrition.

I'm glad to see you're doing your research before you get a dog!!!Holistic Select is pretty good, but I found Orijen to be the best. I went to a holistic pet store and compared the labels of Canidae, Innova, Nutro, NU Pet Plus, Holistic Select and Orijen. They are all much healthier than dog food at the supermarket or petsmart. Orijen was impressive, the only concern I have is it's large amt of protein which could make your puppy grow to fast. You just need to monitor that. Other wise, I believe it's very healthy. You should look into it. Here's a link to a site that explains a lot about dog food; what you want, don't want and why. It helped me a lot. http://spear-barkennels.com . Some of it is Doberman specific, just ignore those parts. Good Luck, and thanks for educating yourself first!

If you are talking about Eagle Pack as a holistic food, I would have to say no. Not one of the best premium brands of dog food.
See if you can get Natural Balance, or Solid Gold dog food in Australia.
