what does it mean when he says leaving a msg is also enough..?

when i said that i am about to go to some out of station where i tried to inform him (who is in abroad) via phone at which time he did not have phone in his hand and later he said you could have left a text that is enough. i will see to it. what does this mean, is he not centimental, or he is careless or he believes in me.
