Are samoyeds classified as a medium or large breed?

I think according to their weight it's medium but then i think it depends on male or female. I want to get a female. Please help!

Medium and as pastoral/working depending on which side of the pond you live. Although even a female sammy can easily put its front paws on your shoulders and will have the strength to pull you along on the lead when you go for a walk.

Female Sammys have the best temperaments, such character!

they are concidered a medium large breed. check the akc.org site
