Free AVG is definitely the best free one out there. It even beats some anti-viruses that you pay for, and there is no 30 day free trial or any trial. It is the same thing as having an anti-virus you pay for. Take it from a guy who has a lot of experience with viruses.

As you should know, there isn't really a FREE anti-virus software... AVG is ok, but doesn't tackle some of the newer viruses, spam, adware, malware etc... If you're willing to spend a very small amount, Norton Anti-Virus is pretty good. Check out download.com for software downloads

I don't believe there is ANY free anti-virus software. There are a few companies that allow you to partially download their software but it will not fully protect you without purchasing the entire program.
The highest rated and most used anti-virus software is PC-cillin Internet Security from Trend-Micro.

Hi
I suggest you the best anti virus and its free, its AVAST ANTIVIRUS .
1. It do not take much hard disk space
2.It is easy to use.
3.It has a very fast scanning system.
Do not prefer AVG antivirus as it makes your system slow.
Thanks for your question man.

I dont know how the person above (greycode) can recommend norton.
It's cr@p..... AVG is not perfect, but if you want a free solution, its the best.
I get Norton _free_.
I have to use it on my (work) laptop and I *could* get it free for my home desktop, paid for by my work.... I do not use Norton at home. I much prefer to have AVG.
