I don't know if you're open to Cambodia as well, but it's a really interesting country. The country is still recovering from the Khmer Rouge, and visiting the Killing Fields Museums and some of the prisons is a real experience. Angkor Wat is also an incredible site, and spending the whole day there would not allow you to see all of it. I was amazed at how it was built (mostly by hand, and rocks were taken from at least 60 km away) and how much of it is still left. The trees around Angkor are incredible, and the twist and turn all around the temple. You could also take a riverboat ride and see the other side of the country, the "floating villages". These people actually live on the water with very little infrastructure because they cannot afford property on land. It's one of those sites that makes you really appreciate having a home and being able to travel.

I like Thailand the most, more relax, and the total cost to go there is comparatively low. But if you have $$, then Japan is good, you can eat a lot of fantastic food; also, shopping is good, their clothes are very stylish I would say.
I like China & India as well, these two countries you must go in your life, as their economy is under developing, you can see the huge changesover there. Also they possess lots of unique cultures.
I will put Singapore the last, if you go there, you can finish your whole trip within two days as not much sights to visit over there.

I agree with Dave Star: The Philippines!!! The people are warm and friendly. The women are beautiful and sweet (ignoring the bar girls and prostitutes). The climate is warm and great (if too hot, you can go up the mountains). The cost of living is VERY low.

I am an American ex-pat living in China following work in Korea and Japan, who has visited The Philippines often.

I liked Japan and Thailand both and it would be a toss up as to which country I would rather stay in longer. I also like Guam but never got to stay there very long.

I love Singapore because I can be a woman there. Americans hate us (Transvestites). well maybe not hate but I seem to enjoy myself as a woman in Singapore more than the U.S.
