I have nursed birds back to health, here's what you need to do: Get some bread and milk. Soak the bread in the milk, this will make it easier for the pigeon to digest it and make it more likely the bird will actually eat it and not choke. Try to get the pigeon to eat it. You do this by taking the soaked bread and rubbing it on the pigeon's lips, ESPECIALLY at the corners of its beak, because some of the milk will seep in. Keep doing this, but be gentle, the pigeon is likely very scared, but it will get hungry. It might eat, but it will take a long time to build trust. Because it is scared, it will reluctantly eat, so you might have to check on it often and keep trying to feed it. Check on it every 2 to 4 hours. It's probably not moving because it is scared and injured, you need to let it heal and overcome its fear. Depending on what happened, it might have internal injuries, so don't pressure it to move. Good luck!

When I raised pigeons, I fed them wild bird seed. They all thrived on it. Check the wing to see if it is missing feathers or broken. If the feathers are missing then it can fly as soon as they grow back. If the wing is broken, a vet will have to take care of it or it won't heal properly and the bird won't be able to fly again. If there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with it, the wing may just be sore (a rough landing or hitting a window are likely causes) and will be better in a week or two. Good luck.

Pigeons are considered the "rats of the bird world". You should not handle this bird. It can contain all sorts of diseases. Be sure you use alcohol on your hands if you inadvertantly touch it.
I am a bird lover and keep seed out for the birds, but I would not go out of my way to help a pigeon survive.
Sorry for that ugly advise. If you really want to help the poor thing, you can buy pigeon feed on-line or give it chicken feed. Any local feed store would have this kind of food as well. But this might not help to have it recover. If the wing is really broken, it could take months to heal. If it is just a broken feather or two, that could happen in one molting phase. So you have to decide how much you are willing to commit to helping this bird.

That is kewl .Pigeons can be really good pets .I found one injured when I was a kid like that .That was a really good pet and followed me to school every day on my bicycle .Sometimes he would hang around the school until I went home .I could go out side and hold my hand up in the air and he would always fly down to me .He would set on my finger or my shoulder but I recommend the finger if you don't want stuff on your shirt . I had him for about 3 or 4 years . They will eat shelled or cracked corn or you can buy the cheap wild bird feed and they will eat it and just a little container of water . They are easy to care for and get really tame if you play with them . I have made pets out of young pigeons too . If he was injured you might want to get some antibiotics for birds to put in the water if he acts like he isn't doing well .You can get them from a farm store or a vet .

Do NOT feed the bird milk of any kind. Pigeons can't digest it and it simply causes severe diarrhea for them.
You want her to be in such an area that she never wants to try to use her wing right not. If there is no way for you to splint it, you're going to have to depend on nature and hoping that it sets correctly enough for her to fly later, even if with a slight "limp". I've had many pigeons recover enough to fly okay after a break.
If you can provide it, small crushed oyster shell would be of benefit to provide some calcium for you. As for seed, almost any seed small enough for her to eat will work. Maize, wheat, barley, milo, rice (not polished), peas, lentils, etc.,

i have no idea what kind of seeds barja seeds are but they should be small as you cannot feed injured animals lol-birds big seeds they cant cope so while she's recovering just give her the little ones . the dish of water is fine but make sure she doesnt tip it over and be waterless.. if her wing is that badley injured you should take her to a vet straight away and then he will probably tape it up and tell you to look after it or hand it in at the wildlife helpers people we call them WIRES and yea i hopwe all goes well. we had to look after a raceing pidgeon that had gotten bvery lost we tracked ddown the wowner through many people. by the tags on his feet and he came from like queensland and we live in nsw :P that was a long way hehe and he waas lost after he got better she stayed and hung aroud our house then one day she jsut flew away =] we called him dummie haha . im going offtrakc anywho.. your pidgeon should be fine gogle up too see how much stuff she'll eat ttyl xx and good luck

At your local pet store ask the clerk for what is called Monkey Feed I know it sounds different, but and injured bird won't eat seed. It will look like a square ***** biscuit. Melt in warn water and suck up into a baby medicine syringe, Hold the bird fern tucked under one arm and at the crack of his beak place the syringe the bird will open his mouth( this is the way mommy feed him) Monkey Feed is full of Vitamins and will help him heal. Do the baby medicine thing with water too if he's not drinking on his own either

I would try to contact a bird rehabilitator. Pigeons are pretty hardy birds and can get better for sure. Don't panic, but pigeons can carry some diseases, so make sure you wash your hands after handling it. Seeds and grains sold for parakeets or doves should work for diet. Just make sure the water is clean and the seeds are replenished often.

If you really want to help this bird, contact a local vet and ask for the number of a local wildlife rehabilitator. For this bird to survive, it will need vet care and professionals looking after it.
If you want to help beyond that, you can volenteer at a wildlife refuge in your area.
