Can I play a dvd player through the spare scart socket on my VCR if so what do Ineed to do.?

My tv has only 1scart socket which is connected to my NTL box.

yes you can. you will need a standard scart lead.

yes - attach DVD to Scart out let and this cable to Video in Scart socket - then other Scart socket on Video to TV.
Tune the Video to Ext 1 (or Line 1 or whatever it's called) and the TV to the video channel.

yes you can - as above. you might think you can record dvd's this way but you will find the copy protection inteferes with the picture.
