What can you suggest to say to a Mother who lives alone, who constantly puts a guilt trip on you when you are leaving the country..?
You can't help but get effected by it when you don't have other brothers or sisters to help her out around the house...!!
Thoughts...?

yes I can understand that you may feel guilty leaving your mum on her own, but why not get her involved in where you go by getting books from the library,brochures from travel agents,involved in the computer and internet etc.? It may help her a little and I do hope she is a healthy person too as that would make it much worse for both of you

If you're only leaving for a short time then stress the amount of time and reassure that you will be home by this date. If it's for a longer period of time then reassure that you love her and that you will write and call her once a week. You should also mention that once you're settled that she can come and visit you.

Let her know ...that you will be ok ! This is something YOU want to do - so she should be proud of you and support your decisions !
Hopefully she has friends !
I live on the other side of the world from my mum and we chat EVERYDAY on msn ....let her know that communication is important to you too .....and u will keep in touch everyday !
You will be fine....she has raised you to be a grown , beautiful and intelligent woman !! Happy travels ...hope this helps!!

Are you emigrating or just going on holiday?
If you're going on holiday, ignore it. If you're emigrating, I wouldn't do that to my mother. If she's on her own.
That's the hardest thing you could ever do to her.
