There are few instances of English words that end in '-clear' but many that end in '-cular': 'particular', 'circular', 'spectacular', 'molecular', 'cellular', etc. In short, this 'aberrant' pronunciation has arisen out of false analogy. Interestingly, however, former President Jimmy Carter (who did post-graduate work in nuclear physics) and one of my uncles (who is a nuclear technician) both pronounce 'nuclear' in the same way as Bush. Although it's not my personal pronunciation, I've often thought maybe it was an 'insider' thing, much as are the pronunciations of many local place names (e.g., Louisiana, Missouri).

He has several pronunciation problems. If it wasn't so pathetic and dangerous, it would be funny. It is the sign of a person who disregards the general rules of society, obviously feeling that these rules do not apply to him.

I don't know. . .he kind of makes me laugh when he pronounces "Shia" for Shiite. :-) Maybe he can get someone to help him, haha.
