Yes at first it is but not when you have been together for years and years.

Only to a point. When you are younger it is the total focus of a relationship but as you get older the actual friendship with a partner becomes more important. At some point in your life you may have to stop altogether due to medical reasons so if all your partner thinks of is sex you could end up divorced in later life. If my girlfriend couldn't have sex for some reason I wouldn't be too bothered as although I would be missing out on part of a relationship I would still be with someone that I loved.

Yes indeed, coming together and being one with that person is special. Touching, feeling, tasting...
Some people forget sensuality, when making love and the act is over in minutes.
Trouble is, if a couple don't stimulate each others mind, as well, the body, the whole thing is short lived and boring.
A lot of love making goes on in the mind as well as the body.
Sex, without anything else in a relationship, is a pretty empty thing. A relationship without sex is the same.
The thing is, if say your guy wants you, and you don't want him, it is a difficult thing to cope with, feelings are hurt.
And of course visa versa...
However, if either person is having problems with the sexual side of things, you don't walk away because love making has stopped for a while; you work it out. There is still the touch, kissing, holding, loving, and understanding.
Yes, friendship and understanding of each others needs is important.

I think sex is important but not the be all and end all of a reltaionship, there are many things to work on for a happy relationship,
I divorced my first wife - she constantly wanted sex - guys before you think I'm a daft bugger, you just try 3-4 times a day every day (except for the one week off each month) and see what thats like after a year. Married to my second wife 14 years this year, we have sex 1-2 times a week, yes I'm getting older but I'm nowhere near over the hill.
We have lots of things in our relationship sex plays it's part of course, but I'd say thats only 3-5%.

Sex realistically should only be important in a relationship if, You are both mature enough to undertand the actions involved, are consenting and be able to cope with potential spin off's i.e Pregnancy, STI's and the psychological implecations. If all off the above are yes then go ahead, but always remember the one golden rule, It MUST consentual on both sides, that means you both agree freely without pressure. Sex is a great way to bond and knit that closeness, but without truth it can never reach the peaks..

Depends. It depends on the motives and feelings of both involved. There are ways to have sex where you can make the other person feel like the most beautiful person in the world and give them confidence. Then there's the other extreme where you can make them feel like trash. For relationships that are real and functioning healthy, sex is important.

Yes-- sex is important; but IT IS NOT what a relationship should be based upon. It is far more important to get along well with each other and have things in common and things different to as to not be too boring with each other.

Yes, sex is an important part of a male/female love relationship. It is pleasureable and shows your partner through emotional bonding the emotions you feel for that person. I am not referring to superficial relationships that are just sex based, those are just for fun. I am referring to sex in a relationship based on love, trust and friendship.

Yes its very important. It gives you a chance to show how much your partner means to you. In my opinion a relationship with out sex isnt going to last long (unless you are too young to have sex then just waite till you are old enough and ready)

If you can define what makes a normal relationships different from a 'friend' relationship, or a 'family' relationship, what is one of the main defining features? Sex.
Is it important? I would say so.
Is it the only reason for a relationship? Absolutley not.
Is it the main focus? That's up to the couple, but to say it's not important is ignoring one of the main attributes of a relationship.

if u are in a loving relationship with a partner, then sex can be pretty important. it's a way of bonding with each other, showing that u find each other attractive, and of course the human mind / body is pre programmed to want to reproduce, so most people want regular with their partner. (or some people want it with anyone who'll sleep with them ! lol) anyway, when u do it properly with the right person, it's better than chocolate, tv & shopping, all rolled together ! lol
