A retinal tear is a tear in the membrane like thin layer at the back of the eye, that is Retina. This layer like the film in a camera, is responsible for our vision. a tear may occur if the retina is weak, like in people with high minus power glasses, or there may be other reasons, like trauma.
the sooner the tear is repaired, the better are the chances of good vision and the tear not doing any further permanent damage like retinal detachment.
