According to Microsoft 24 months after the release of Vista the availability will be limited.

In a way anything that has become before windows vista is now obsolete. It just depends when developers quit making things available for that operating system.

it is difficult for Xp to become obsolete as they have far more better than the previous versions, but after the launch of vista there are chances for XP to fade away

It already is. Macs rule the world :-P

But really, probably within five years. They are going to stop making PCs with XP built in and start using Vista instead. Then when everyone has to buy a new computer (everyone will have to eventually. They are outdated so fast!) they will all have Vista. At least, that's what I think.
