At breakfast time, have some lovely pastries, fresh fruit and coffee ready on a tray, decorate with flowers etc, and propose so you can spend the whole day celebrating, it seems a shame to get engaged at night time, you just have to go to sleep then!!

Soon as the person wakes up. Have the ring right there and ask them to marry you. Thats romantic because you know when you wake up you have bad breath, hair mess up, the whole nine. But all thats out the window when that is ask. Or at a basketball game or football, have it on the screen board. Good Luck!

My dentist took his ladyfriend out for a picnic on a beautiful day high on a mesa. Just as they were finishing their lunch on a romantic blanket, she spied a colorful hot air balloon in the distance. They snuggled on the blanket and watched the balloon as it floated closer. Closer and closer, and then it descended right there next to them! The operator, waving two champagne glasses and a bottle gestured for them to come on board. My dentist scooped his friend up into his arms and then climbed on-board. The balloon ride was a total surprise to her. As they floated over the countryside, he proposed. She said yes.

I think it would be romantic to be called on the phone and him suddenly show up at my door at midnight on Valentines day.
and him show up and blind fold me and lead me to a moonlit and candlelit picnic on the beach and him sit down and feed me whipped creamed strawberries and after a couple laughs him tell me that I am the most important girl in his life and he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, only me. and him slip the ring on my finger and him say to me "i want to spend my life with you, only you, and i hope that you will feel the same way. I pray to God that you say yes, and that tear means yes..." and i would scream yes and kiss him all over...
and that my friend is the most romantic proposeful ever! ;) (as you can see, I have read a lot of romance novels)

spell her name with little pebble rocks or flowers on a trail in the mountains. make sure it is somewhere with a really good view. then take her on a walk there. she sees her name and hopefully thinks it is cute, then as you keep walking more things are spelled out telling her of love, then the last thing (next to the best view) it says will you be my wife.
