Yes, it's called Centrelink. However, to look for job vacancies, go to website (govt. run). Australian job search..http://jobsearch.dewrsb.gov.au/

Centrelink deals with Unemployment benefits, pensions and the like. Job vacancies have been outsourced to "Job Networks". There are many Government approved/ licensed labour hire companies and employment agencies.

Yes, it is called Centerlink, but you need to go through a lot of paperwork etc. Best find the ones advertised in the phone book, There are a lot of them, and even in the small towns you will find them.

Depending on what kind of work you are looking for e.g. there is a lot of work for unskilled workers in the seasonal areas, there is always lots of temp administraton type work in the cities, but in the holiday resorts along the coast most of the jobs go to locals
good luck

It's not really centrelink, it's job search which is run by Job Network members, I know this as I use to work in the industry.

The following website should be able to help you:

https://jobsearch.gov.au/Login/Login.aspx?WHCode=0

Everything you need to know will be on this page.

Goodluck
