Hi. If I were you I'd go into your local precinct or court house with a good lawyer to set up a court date to keep you out of jail until you settle the warrents. What kind of warrents are they? Were they serious crimes. If not, you still don't want to be hauled off to jail and the lawyer will help with that not happening. Look at it this way. You can run but you can't hide from the law. If you're stopped on the street without ID you may be taken in anyway until they find out who you are because the law states that all person must carry ID or in reality a license to walk hence non-drivers license. Perhaps we will soon need to insure ourselve against walking accidents. And they call this a free country. Good luck.

It depends on the state that you reside in. Going to the license brance to get a license, or state id, could wind you up in jail. Some states use Law Enforcement officers a the license branch. If thats the case, they may or may not run your current ID for any violations. Also depending on what the warrant is for, as would you go to jail. So you have a 50-50 chance of going to jail or not going to jail. If I were you, I would get the warrants taken care of and then apply for a current ID.

Depends on which state you live in. Some to routine records check when issuing an ID, some don't.
An expired ID is the least of your worries. Take care of the warrants.

Oh yes! indubitably! My son went to get a work permit (he had a warrant also) he gives the lady his information on the form, she says "take a seat please" and see--- they first "run" you ID and they see what the police do when doing a traffic stop and they run your ID. So anyway,-- he's sitting there waiting and IN come the cop's and hauls him off! Truth! I was there

m.v.a does not have access police warrants. the only info they have are whether your liscense is valid or nonvalid.since you are getting astate i.d. i dont see a problem there. but if you get pull up by police is better to have no i.d. on you and an alias. goodluck.

Yes, this is one way law enfocement can use to nab people with outstanding warrents. Make it easy on yourself, and turn yourself in. it won't get any easier for you if you keep avoiding the problem, it only gets worse.

Why not turn yourself in to get it out of the way? That way you can renew your ID worry free when your legal troubles are sorted out.

I certainly hope so. You are a leach on society and a fugitive from justice. You should be treated as such, nothing more.
