...Well Ali, I'll take a stab @ this...:

1. You need to start out with clean and good conditioned hair...go to a hair store with plenty of products to choose from and more importantly someone knowledgeable about hair to help you choose a good shampoo and deep conditioner that will gently cleanse as well as moisturize your hair...also make sure they are targeted toward heat protection (b/c I have a feeling that fuzzy look is due to you using those straightening machines) as well b/c curly hair is beautiful but if you don't put chemicals on it to relax the curl out, then you will need HEAT baby!!! I use cream of nature's detangling conditioning shampoo...go here to at least see what the bottle looks like(http://cremeofnature.com/products_1.asp)...I condition with Super Cholesterol Hair Conditioning Cream when I'm straightening my hair ... ( go to http://www.queenhelene.com/haircarechol2.html to see what that looks like)
2. When you deep condition your hair, let it sit for a while to really penetrate the hair shaft, I personally use Queen Helen's Cholesterol (when you run your hands through your hair it feels soft and moisturized, not greasy and altered)...
3. Sometimes I also use a leave in conditioner spray that is for heat protection before I blow dry my hair...
4. When you blow dry it, take small sections and precomb them out with a wide tooth comb...I prefer to use a blow dryer w/ a comb attachment, it helps to smooth out the curl as you dry your hair...remember when combing your hair to start w/ the ends and work your way up...
4. after your hair is dry...take it into sections again (the smaller the section, the straighter the hair b/c the heat can be distributed better) and straighten it...I plug in my ceramic straightener (which holds heat soo good) and a 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide curling iron...When I take the section I'm ready to straighten I first put the hair in the curling iron which I put as close to my scalp as I can and gently pull down...I straighten about 1-2 inches of the section of hair that way (this helps it to lay and look better b/c the roots are straight too and not just the middle or ends of the hair)...then I take a comb that has the teeth very close together and the actual straightener machine and place the machine on the hair w/ the comb right under it and just move them both down my hair(b/c the machine will just flatten the hair, the small teethed comb is what helps to break up all the knots and seperate the hair so that each individaul strand can get heat on it, this is what does the actual magic I'm telling you try one piece like this and one piece the way you normaly do it...)
5. You might want to let someone experienced with these tools do it the first couple of times...I don't want no burns on your face due to something I said...
6. As for the sports thing...it is what it is...moisture in the form of sweat on the scalp will ruin the straight style, but you can help it a little brush your hair up into a ponytail when your going to be active (swirl the hair around and into a bun right on the top of your head and secure it if you feel comfortable with your hair like this...that would help the hair shaft and ends to stay straight) and wear a headband to soak up the sweat along your edges...after you finish playing don't take it off or your hair down until your scalp and hair is dry...
Good Luck ...

There is a treatment called Thermal Reconditioning (Japanese Hair Straightening). It's a method of permanently straightening human hair. This process is different from that of using relaxers to smooth out the hair. The procedure takes four to eight hours, depending on the length and volume of one's hair.
PS: It will keep your hair straight even when is wet or drying naturally, without the use of heat or hair dryers.

you can try using a shampoo and conditioner for curly/fuzzy hair, then a product that does the same. Then straightners. The finish with a defuzz spray.

Coz ur hair is so curly it will never completely straighten after applying relaxer. I used to use relaxer and it would make my hair wavy. So I would blowdry it straighter. You can use a flat iron afterwards to allow the straightness to last longer but make sure its not too hot otherwise you'll damage your hair.

What White human beings call a "relaxer," Black human beings verify with as a perm. you are able to flow to a salon and get it carried out or flow purchase it interior the keep. keep offered ones do not final as long, yet are lots extra maximum reasonably-priced. yet what you chum is handling is what surprisingly lots each black female bargains with called "sweating out your perm" and is why workout consultation sucks. You perm it, blow dry it immediately and then flat iron it. It takes an prolonged time and might somewhat be undone by working up a sweat or getting it moist. different ideas? braids, wigs, dreads, or only shrink it off and positioned on a sprint mini fro which would be very stylish too.
