I am not a doctor, but just someone that has walked in your shoes. I have suffered from sleep talking/sleep talking from the time I was 10. Sometimes I don't get an episode for months, and then other times I get them nightly. I haven't had any in the past 6 months, but then I had them two nights in a row just a few nights ago. First, I had to figure out what happened in my life that triggered the talking. Once I dealt with that the frequency cut down a lot. When faced with a reminder of the "issues", I have a bad night too. I have found that when I go to bed with an "empty mind" it helps a lot. I do something mindless and borning until I am completely sleepy, then I have nothing else on my mind but to get sleep. On nights that I am really bad, my husband wakes me up (the first three or fours years I swung at him every time he tried, but now it is okay) when I get started and then lays with me wide awake until I get back to sleep without talking.

My question to you ~ Do you suffer from Sleep Apena, Depression, or low self esteem? Have you ever been a victim of child abuse, sexual abuse, rape, or domestic violence? These are some common triggers to sleep talking.

GOOD LUCK!

Hi

A quick search on Google came up with a very helpful and brief description of sleep talking. Be sure to check out the link below.

Aside from their suggestions, you could also try ear plugs for your boyfriend.
