I've known SEALs before. They have pretty normal lives. They didn't seem to be gone any longer than the regular sailors. And all the SEALs I knew were married.

SEALs Can Have Normal Lives. Unless They Chosse Not To.
They'd Be Gone For 1 Month To 6 Months Depending On Where The Operation Is Based Or WHat They Left For.
They Can Also Have Meaningful Relationships.

We had a trombone player in our church. I had his daughter in my Sunday school class. I hadn't seen him in a few weeks and asked the girl where her dad is. She told me, "I can't say. He's a Seal and he's away on a mission." I don't think many of us even knew he was a Seal. He was quiet and unassuming. I often deal with a retired Seal Commander. I only found out he was once a seal when we started swapping sea stories. I've been dealing with him thru work for 7 or 8 years and I only found this out when we ran into each other a couple of years ago. My favorite story is when they would take a white swan/goose/duck..can't remember...from a suspected V.C. village, dye it black and put it back. The village would empty.
They go on missions AS NEEDED.
So in answer to your 'relationship' question. Most definitely but it takes a SPECIAL wife to be a SEAL wife.

My brother in law is a Seal. he is married to my sister, they have three children. It is confidential regarding the missions, and they not only have a meaningful relationship, but a very loving one.
