I was negligent in reporting in my answer that my vet said, "I don't think it is a problem or anything serious." I was insulted by the last answer that implied that I was negligent in the health care of my cat. I understand how that could be misconstrued. I do not understand why some one would be so focused on hurting the feelings of someone who cares enough about a cat to ask a serious question in an open forum. My vet did not have a satisfactory answer for me over the past few years of this symptom and I needed help. This seemed like a good venue for information. I was looking for some way to respond to the last responder and let it be known that I do properly care for and love my cat and have always provided responsible health care on a regular basis for all of my cats.

Is there a way to respond to this person with the above answer to my question regarding the raised black spots on my cat's gum line which have been multiplying for about two years?

TY 2 those who help

Click on their name and see if they have email enable and you can send it right to them. if not, look at their recent questions and add a note to one of those question to them and see if they run across it.

However, remember that anyone can answer these questions and sometimes you have to just decide that those who answer in idiotic ways are just jerks. Ignore what they say

I think it's really sad that someone has been so judgmental to you, especially as you are so new to Answers. Unfortunately, there are a few people out there who will jump to conclusions if you don't spell everything out in huge detail.

If your question was still open, or if you yourself had picked Best Answer, I would have recommended looking to see if the answerer had e-mail and send her/him the text that you wrote above. But as Best Answer was voted for by others then unfortunately the answerers' details have all disappeared.

Please don't let it put you off Yahoo Answers, most of the people out there are good hearted. Yes, there are the judgmental ones who fly off the handle and, be warned, you'll also sometimes see some pretty sickeningly cruel questions and answers. There was a real rash of them about a week ago, I reported as many as I could to Yahoo for abuse and thankfully they have disappeared now. (I don't give them the satisfaction of answering any more; I suspect most of them are just thoroughly unpleasant people with a sick sense of humour who enjoy winding people up. In fact, for that reason I don't even vote them thumbs down any more, then they don't know how many people they've upset!)

I do hope you find a good answer to your question, I'm afraid it's not something I've ever come across and we've been owned by plenty of cats. It must be really difficult when you feel that you are not getting a satisfactory answer from your vet. If it's an option where you live, what about asking around for recommendations for an alternative vet? We have just "lost" out vet - the best we've ever had - to a well deserved retirement and are praying that his replacement will be as good as him.

All the best of luck to you and your cat.

Some people are fanatical about animals. They almost treat animals better than the people around them. So, if they felt that you were being lax in the care of your kitty, then they will blast you. I get angry at people only when they appear to have a very ill animal and want to know what to do without taking it to the vet. It sounds to me like you took your cat to the vet and the vet looked at the problem and told you not to worry about it. So you did what you should have done. Next time, if you have been to the vet and have gotten an answer, don't ask the question on this forum, you will raise the ire of the fanatics.

If your question wasn't constructed properly, or you forget a certain detail, then you may have given the wrong impression. However that doesn't give anyone the right to insult or hurt your feelings. You can
#1 send that person a message and vent your anger
#2 report them for abuse(doesn't do much good)
#3 realise that that person is a hateful, unkind human being and ignore them.
There are a lot of petty, unkind people on this site, but the majority are pretty cool who really do want to share their knowledge with others, it's too bad you had to run into the nastier kind. But if you are going to use this site alot, prepare for the worst, you will get alot of stupid, rude and cruel comments on some of your questions. That's life!!
Good luck and hope your kitty is better.

I didn't respond to your question, but about answers -- I guess in general, we feel when someone is asking a question here, they know they are getting a variety of answers. Sometimes the answer is not what the asker "wants" to hear, even if the answerer didn't mean it to be taken negatively. Sometimes people get reported for this, and I think that is wrong. In an open forum, you have to expect all sorts of answers; just ignore the ones you don't like.
Of course, people should not be rude.

My cat Love Muffin Just Died last week. This is very hard to take, since the cat was the same age I am, which Is 19. There vet said he should of been put down a month ago, so they gave him a shot. I got to pet him, after they gave him the shot, he purred and purred, until he drifted off to sleep. Love Muffin will Live on in my heart and that of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting such a wonderful creature

IS YOUR CAT GINGER? I ask because mine has the same and I was told its freckles - no seriously i was and he has them on his nose and gets more freckly in the summer.

I asked a question about my cat who bit me rather hard (after i was playing with it) and someone told me to put it down!

some people have nothing better to do with their time, so dont worry, I am sure you love your cat otherwise you wouldnt have taken it to the vet or even asked a question on here. I replied by adding detail to my original question saying that i would not have him put down and any vet who was sane wouldnt do it anyway on the basis of one bite.

I would in your case, let it wash over you, know in your heart you are a good owner and your cat loves you and you are doing your best as little people like this are not important in the grand scheme of things

Some people get a kick out of answering people's questions with snotty remarks, but it is something a person has to get used to, but just click on their name and send your message, and give him hell hon, some people are really jerks and just for the hell of it get the 2points awarded, for answering.
As to the reply of the question that you did ask, if the vet is not too concerned about it, then don't trouble yourself about it,it could just be in the cats genes, but if it is affecting her health in any way I would take the cat to another vet

Don't let people like that get you down. You know you are a good pet owner and so don't your pets. Ignore people like that. It's a serious sign of ignorance. Seems to be a lot that these days. I have read some pretty stupid questions and answers in this forum. You just have to take it with a grain of salt and not let it get you.
