Yes, I do. Any position where power is involved will cause this.

Yes they do, all police will go through the stage of saying I am a police man/woman and I am the law, and that is when they overstep the boundaries of position, when they are off duty or on they still use the excuse that they are the law.
Look don't get me wrong they are doing an excellent job out there but why is it that they can get away with harassing people, and the mere civilian can't, they are people and so are the people on the street so why is one thing good for one and not for the other.

Many do, sometimes possibly not realizing it. Let me explain, please. A similar thing effects me, only about cars.
Police have a hard, dangerous job. A certain mindset can take over after a little time on the force. Since all they see most of the time all they see is bad guys, they subconsciously start thinking that everybody who isn't a cop is a bad guy. So everybody is under suspicion. And more lately, they have been trying to throw their weight around. Not all cops are like that but that's not saying there are no bad cops either. The most likely worst personal part is that that attitude follows them home to their wife and kids.
More cops does NOT mean less crime! And not everybody is a bad guy! And armed citizens means less crime! In all states that now have concealed carry of firearms, crime has decreased virtually across the board. That's also a fact!

Its like any job that you take. Some people become police officers to help people, victims, and put the criminals behind bars.
Then you have others who want to become police officers either to be power hungry, or for some its a job. They collect a paycheck and thats it for them. So you would have to look at the individual. Just don't assume that all police officers are taking the job for the "position going to their head". You have good cops, as well as bad cops. Its just like any other profession in todays working world. Been there.

It happens in all careers and all people do it. Do Mercedes owners take their cars to their heads? The answer is yes because of status or prestige. Police are not citizens.

The correct term is officer presence, it's a way of letting you know that a police officer is of higher control. It's very useful when face to face with bad guys. Imagine a 5 foot woman pulling over a 6'6" truck driver and asking him to step outside. You must let your presence be known, it's the first thing that will help you from not getting killed.

I can not say all police are bad,. Most person do not really no what job real tuff job it can be. I might say there is many that might and there fore it makes it bad for those that are really trying to do there job. Many of us may get upset if a officer stops us for speeding for example. But that is just to keep your on your toes and keep your insurace rates down. And always remember the faster you go the stronger the impact if you get in a accident. I am no perfect my self and go over speed limit my self. But I might say I think in all postions there is always a big bad wolf.

No. But when you have someone breaking into your house think about whether or not you want someone to respond that will take a stance of authority or someone who will just passively let the perps take whatever they want.

If you break the law and the cop doesn't give you a "break" but cites you. Oh well, you have taken the chance that you wouldn't get caught and that's how gambling is, sometimes you win....

Just like in anything else, yes. There are some that become policemen for the wrong reason. They forget that their power is in their uniform, not them. Also I think that seeing people at their worst day after day makes their job difficult and, it's harder for them deal with life on the same level as people in less demanding jobs.
