i have a bachelors in computer science engineering and i wish to take up SAP finance.when i enquired through some of my contacts i was told that i had to know pl/sql and all sorts of stuff.i am an average student.will the training be so tough that i will flunk?

If you want to do SAP finance you do not need any technical knowledge. You should know the basics of accounting and understand how to work with a computer.

It would depend a lot on your current experience and what you are planning to take up in the future. To be a SAP consultant, you also need to have some functional knowledge in the area of specialization. This experience could be manufacturing, financials, IT, etc. Just taking a SAP training without any previous functional experience might not be very helpful in the short term.

No, there are no specific requirements to take SAP training. However, a background in a specific aspect of business (i.e. HR, Logistics, Finance, etc.) is the best background for a SAP Functional Analyst. You would then specialize in the the SAP module related to your background. For a SAP ABAP programmer, the best background is writing computer code like Java.

Not really, but you will be supposed to know about basic concepts of finance like Accounting, Flow of materials etc.
Knowledge of database is also necessary like Database concepts and PL/SQL, so that you can understand the process of recording the business transactions in the database. You can gather information on Business Finance using some academic books and for PL/SQL follow the Oracle website : http://otn.oracle.com
