Did your father have any history of colour blindness or misinterpreting colours? If so, you most likely passed it along to him, as it is carried on the X chromosome, which comes from the mother.

relax it's ok most children his age cant recognise colours anyway they don't see the diffrence it all looks the same. if you want him to start to recognise colours early get a couple of diffrent object that are the same colour and give them to him say the object name and the colour then say another object and repeat the colour he will pick up the pattern even if he doesn't repeat the words

I think 20 months might be too soon to diagnose. But my dad is color-blind. It's fairly common, actually. Keep an eye out for it, and let your pediatrician know your thoughts. Good luck!

Based on just this observation, one cannot tell if he is developing normally or not. If you are concerned about whether he is having problems or not, perhaps you would like to bring him to a specialist to have him evaluated and to see if he is developing normally in other areas.
