I ask because of the time gap. 2000 years ago with only a speck of technology. Do you understand, in any way, shape or form how someone could not accept the bible? 6 billion people and he have no proof. Why is mankind so scared that he fears what happens AFTER DEATH? I truly do not understand. I am asking in all honesty here. Thanks

That prayer and even its introduction in themselves show the very close relationship that Jesus himself enjoyed with his Father. He had been speaking to his disciples, looking at them as he talked; then he needed only to ‘raise his eyes to heaven’ and continue talking, but now speaking to his Father.
It was as simple as that.On the basis of such a relationship to God Jesus addressed himself to God as a son and prayed: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you, according as you have given him authority over all flesh, that, as regards the whole number whom you have given him, he may give them everlasting life. This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:1-3) Thus Jesus did not claim to be “the only true God.”

Notice that Jesus prays to One whom he calls “the only true God.” He points to God’s superior position when he continues: “So now you, Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.” (John 17:5) Since Jesus prayed to God requesting to be alongside God, how could Jesus at the same time be “the only true God”? Let us examine this matter.

Does the Bible agree with those who teach that the Father and the Son are not separate and distinct individuals? No it does not.

Matt. 26:39, RS: “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will.)

Though he invariably found himself busy from morning to night, he set aside time to talk to his heavenly Father. Sometimes, Jesus got up “early in the morning, while it was still dark,” in order to pray. (Mark 1:35) On other occasions, he retired to a lonely place at the end of the day in order to talk to Jehovah.

Not Divine on Earth

The Scriptures make it clear that Jesus was entirely human from his birth until his death. John did not say that the Word was merely clothed with flesh. He “became flesh” and was not part flesh and part God. If Jesus had been human and divine at the same time, it could not have been said that he had been “made a little lower than angels.” Hebrews 2:9; Psalm 8:4, 5.

If Jesus had been both God and man when on the earth, why did he repeatedly pray to Jehovah? Paul wrote: “In the days of his flesh Christ offered up supplications and also petitions to the One who was able to save him out of death, with strong outcries and tears, and he was favorably heard for his godly fear.” Hebrews 5:7.

That Jesus was not partly a spirit when on the earth is proved by Peter’s statement that Christ was “put to death in the flesh, but, made alive in the spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18) Only because Jesus was wholly human could he have experienced what imperfect people experience and thus become a sympathetic high priest. Wrote Paul: “We have as high priest, not one who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in all respects like ourselves, but without sin.”, Hebrews 4:15.

As “the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world,” Jesus “gave himself a corresponding ransom for all.” (John 1:29; 1 Timothy 2:6) In that way, Jesus bought back exactly what Adam had lost, perfect, eternal human life. Since God’s justice required ‘soul for soul,’ Jesus thus had to be what Adam was originally, a perfect human, not a God-man.

I am mormon, and in the LDS church, we do believe that Jesus is the son of god. People get this mixed up a lot. Don't worry. Jesus and God are not the same people. They are seperate beings. Everyone on this earth is a child of God and chose to follow Christ in heaven. There was a war in heaven. 1/3 followed Satan. Christ is called the son of god because he did nothing wrong. He toched no unclean thing and was a great example to everyone. He was crucified and he died for EVERYBODY'S wrongs. That is why he is called the son of God. He will come again. On the 2nd coming and no body knows when that will be. This is what the LDS church believes. I hope that helped.

Because the bible was written by man. and man makes mistakes. The holly church decided on what went into the Book. The bible was a form of MASS control. To scare people. Without themselves looking like the bad person. I bet you also didn't know that there is a part in the bible that was left out that mentions everyone will eventually go to heaven..and the unfaithful will be punished in eternal flames (meaning the flames will be constant while there). But will be released after there time was served. Kind of like a Jail sentence. There's just a lot of contradictory information in the bible. That's why it's all in Faith.

Christians believe that we are all the sons and daughters of God. Or you might say, we believe in God, or more accurately, we believe that life has meaning. What God is really another issue.

However, where many Christians part is on the nature of Jesus Christ. Was he a God or not? If he was, then at what point did he become a God? If he was always a God, then what is the magic or meaning of the his story on earth or what was the meaning of the crucifixion?

Does a God suffer when he dies on the cross?

In the Bible a righteousness is revealed about God and his Holy spirit and how you and me can receive this spirit in the Name of Jesus, once you receive this spirit you can know that it is true and that spirit is what we call being born again, Jesus says in john 3 you must be born again and receive this spirit to see the kingdom of the invisible God, so go read john 3 and acts 2 and see this holy spirit and then ask God to fill you with it in the name of Jesus and you will get born again and these questions you will never ask again! Start in John! its beautiful. You have an inheritance from your father in heaven and it is his spirit!

People fear death because they fear the unknown..
True 'immortality' comes through having children, passing on your genes and the family name..
The idea that after life you spend an eternity in a cloud playing a harp or burning in a lake of fire, is, well, ridiculous...

Jesus was a great man, but sadly there are many people who ignore the message, and worship the messenger...
Make this life count, because its the only one you you'll have..
When its over, you'll be fertizer, nothing more...

Grover: The historical record of both, the Romans and the Jews of the time Jesus walked the earth. Also, the change in dating of time from B.C. [Before Christ] to A.D. [Anno Domino - in the year of our Lord] He, Jesus, will reveal Himself to you, provided that you sincerely call upon Him to and ask Him to show you. He desires a relationship with you spiritually. Once attained to, all doubt will be removed - I can assure you. !!!

It's so complicated there have been volumes dedicated to your question . I'll add one quote of what Freud said though :
Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls in with our instinctual desires.

All bibles full of contradictions and ambigous statements. Some gospel says son of man some son of god.
Neither he was son of man nor son of God. Both concepts are falsehood.
