What wines would you recommend for someone like who have a 'sweet tooth'?

I just can't stand the taste ot those wines out there. What would you suggest, expensive types and budget types?

I feel the same way. I hate wine because I see and think grape juice, but it tastes nothing like grape juice. I stumbled on a brand that is called Muscat Wine. MOst of them have a low alcohol content so they are less Winey.

I would suggest a Late Harvest wine such as a moselle, but if you are after something almost 'sickly' sweet i'd suggest a sticky or fortified wine. good examples of this in australia would be the stella bella late harvest pink.

Late harvest means the grapes are picked just before they turn rotten, this is when the grapes are most sweetest.

Just go to your nearest bottle shop/ liqueur store that has a great selection of wines and ask the person at the counter for their selection. Some specialised liquor stores have a Sommelier on hand to help you with any wine related questions.

Well, if you're talking about sticking to wine, most liquor stores sell Arbor Mist and an especially sweet wine known as Boones Farm. I hate the tastes of dry wines myself, so these are the only ones I'd touch. Usually priced from $7-10.

If you want really sweet wine here are two types for you.

Muscat (pronounced "mos cat a") is a very sweet desert type wine and comes in many different price ranges.

Icewine is another very sweet wine that is made from grapes frozen on the vine before they have fully matured, so they have very concentrated sugars. It can also be found in several price ranges and brands.

Icewines and Vintage ports would fit into the expensive types. Any Ontario icewine can set you back anywhere from $50 Canadian through to a couple of thousand dollars, depending on where you buy it from. Vintage ports that I like are ones with a date back into the 1980's.

In terms of budget types, I would look for late harvest wines, also from Ontario, Canada. Most of the wineries in Ontario will make both a late harvest and an icewine. Just check out their websites and find one you think this "someone" will like. Oooh, Riesling. It's a sweet white wine, originally from Germany. I usually spend $10-$15 on wine, and I have yet to meet a bottle of Riesling I didn't like. If you can find a bottle, dandelion wine is almost too sweet, and I have the biggest sweet tooth on this planet.

Or you can indulge in the pleasures of the $5 bottle of blackberry wine. Don't judge me!

You're after sweeter wines to please your sweet tooth, right?

Gewürztraminer is a great wine that is sweeter.

Dessert wines with botrytis wine styles are sweet and delicious. They are also sometimes known as sticky wines.

Also many Spätlese wines are sweet too.

If you want a sweet red, then go for a sweet (not dry) Rose or a sweet Lambrusco.

These all have a range of wines to cater for all budgets. Spatlese and Lambrusco are often very cheap.

Dessert wines would be the way to go.
Try a botrytis wine or a tokay or an ice wine.
They come in small bottles. So, although they can be high quality, the price can be pretty reasonable. There is a wide range of quality and/ price available.

Try a fruit wine. When I first started drinking wine, and even now sometimes, that's what I did.

Two brands that I particularly liked:

Sweet Pea - An Apple and Peach wine blend
Huck - Huckleberry wine!!

I had that problem when I first started drinking wine, and although some may disagree I found this wine called Catawba and boy is it sweet. (at least in the wine world), the one I got was pink, but I think there might be others.
