No insult taken. Please don't take this answer as an insult. I quit believing in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and God around the age of 7 when I finally started thinking for myself. I figured if God was going to smite me because I didn't believe in him and send me to hell for it, I didn't want him for a playmate anyway.

Maybe or you may just wish. This also reveals your pride, vain motives and bias which control your thought processes. Atheists are easy to understand and predict. Believers tend to be more considerate, and do not want to intentionally offend, we have a higher sense of duty and morality, while atheists have no rule or standard in this area. A Christian does not come using profanity, a atheist doe snot even consider it profanity , maybe. So that is the cause of the difference, there are many times i wish to say things but do not, I think of sarcastic things but refrain, because I have a high calling to be a saint and I wish to please my God, not just make myself happy by hurling words at them to make myslef feel better. I trade that immediate pleasure for one to come from obedience to a higher calling, to be a child of God.

It was a torture device in a Monty Python skit....so why not?
Religion is just as absurd as anything the MPFC lads came up with. If I can't dissuade them of their outrageous beliefs, I can at least try to make them feel silly.

No Way.
My brother is.
My brother is SO sarcastic that it borders on the caustic and you have to wear protective clothing whenever an asinine comment is made.

A sense of humor is a good thing as long as you are not making fun of people

Yes. We rule with a sarcastic fist.

And theists are the queens of dull.

And Scientologists are the court jesters.

I'm pretty much a smartass, but then, so is my very Mormon cousin.
It's genetic, from both sides of my family.
