You have a serious issue here. I have seen cats that have gotten hurt by chewing or biting electrical cords. There is one cat that remains in my mind. This cat had half of his face disfigured because he chewed a cord. My advice is either to put hot sauce on all of your cords or use a repellent. Either method will work tho. If you decide to use hot sauce, put some on a rag or paper towel and wipe cords with it. You might have to do this a couple of times. The repellent is sold in pet stores. There are a couple of different brands but they all do the same thing. Keep cats away from things they aren't supposed to be in too. The repellent will deter your cat from getting near the cords as it has quite a strong unpleasant odor to it. You will have to apply it every 24 hours as it wears off after that amount of time. That should break your cat of this terrible habit. I would advise you to do either the hot sauce or the repellent asap. This is a very dangerous thing for a cat to be doing. Hope this helps you out.

Hi there ...for deterring inappropriate cat behaviour around electrical wires consider using a cable wire loom to bundle up the the wires. The loom is very inexpensive and not only does it prevent the cat from tangling in the wires, but also tidies the area up as well. You should be able to find some of these at local hardware stores if not you can order these online. Cable Organizer Wire Loom: http://cableorganizer.com/wire-loom/
For the wires that are difficult to bundle consider using either apple cider vinegar or a pet-friendly deterrent spray-on product called Grannick's Bitter Apple® http://www.grannicks.com usually found worldwide at most pet stores. It is a citrusy scent that once a cat tastes will generally avoid those areas which have that particular odour. Rather than directly spray these onto the wires and plugs, first unplug the surge suppressor then mist the solution on your hand to coat the wires manually.

The only thing you can do is to cover or keep electrical cords out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind. This works very well with animals. As far as covering them goes, try wrapping thick fabric around them so the chewing won't hurt them. If it continues ask your vet as your cat may be electrocuted if they continue.

go to pets at home (or any other good store) and buy "Shaws Chew deterrent" - it has a picture of a dog on it but worked for my cat (who ate my phone charger in half) - it says it protects furnishings from dogs and dogs from self harm
spray it onto a cloth and wipe it on the cables (use gloves because i didnt and it took a couple of days for me to get the taste off my hands)

paint the cords with sour apple juice, it will not hurt the cat but they hate the taste..... or spray it with a water pistol

Unplug them. Not a joke. And give your cat some toys preferably with catnip in them. It should distract him. Those cardboard scratchers filled with catnip really amuse my cats. Get the bigger one. . .

Spray with repellant, or leave it until it gets electrocuted and probably be traumatic or dead.
