First , are you generally a healthy person? Do you have an illness or disease going on at the moment? Do you take any medications? If yes you must ask you dr what it is ok to take.
'
If you are eating the right foods , you should be getting everything you need. But now days we don't eat healthy, and our foods have been so processed that they have to be " enriched" (because in the processing they took all the natural good stuff out)
In general a good multi vitamin is really all most people need. I like the general multi from vitamin shoppe. Gender specific.
Remember there are 2 types of vitamins.. Fat soluable (A,D,E,K) and Water soluable. Take a vitamin with food. You will need to have a bit of fat in a meal to absorb the fat soluable vitamins.
If you dont have vitamin knowledge, take a multi.
The Fat Sol's are be stored in your body and can make you ill if you take too much, but you will be good with a multi.
The Water sol's are like b and c, and your body only absorbs as much as you need and you pee out the rest.. so one multi a day should do ya.
So basically, if your dr tells you you are ok to take vitamins, one munti par day should work.. Also remember that a vit wont give you fiber and all the good stuff you get from real food. So dont skip out on the real food!!!

Eight glasses a day is recommended, but not set in stone. Every person is different. Think of your muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc as a sponge. If they are dehydrated, like the sponge, they are brittle and break easily. Add water, and they are much more difficult to tear or break. Hydration also affects your brain, keeping you focused, awake, and able to think more clearly. The more water you have in your system the quicker toxins are flushed out also. Don't drink too much water, as that is bad for you also. Just try to make sure you are not thirsty, thats good enough for me!

It all depends on your own characteristics as no two people are exactly the same. Sure, things like fish oil and omega 3s are important to all, but in varying doses and amounts.
Try this site -- it gives you a complete rundown of exactly how much you need of what based on how you answer a short series of questions:
