All of a sudden i noticed that my face was swelling near my jaw. I haven't eaten anything unusual or anything. It is right at my jaw and is getting really swollen. It is sore and i ahve no clue what it could be. I would like a medical answer with resources.

It could also be an impacted tooth, a pinched nerve, a virus like Mumps, or any of several other things, so see a doctor. Some of the things could be serious.

An infected tooth is probably the most common cause of swelling in the jaw, with severe pain usually associated with it. Ice to the jaw and some aspirin or tylenol should help some til you can get in to a dentist, if this is the case. Could also be a tumor or mumps or infection of another kind. In any case, you should see a doctor or dentist to find out what the problem is.

that happen to me and i found out it was a blockage of my saliva gland, it really doesn't matter that you haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary, it swells b/c the duct is blocked and it's backing up
