What you should look for to secure them is small double prong metal clips (at any beauty supply store). We use these at our salon to keep velcro rollers in our client's hair.
To use them, pull the hair out from the head holding it taught. Curl the ends of the hair around the curler. Holding both ends of curler, roll it to your scalp, holding the hair onto the roller when you start. Make sure to keep the resistance while rolling, it should help to keep them from being so loose. Clip to the base of your head with a pin.

its usually better to do if your hair is somewhat damp..the hair can hold better..the curlers should have came with some sort of clips..if not, like someone else said, grab some bobby pins..usually what i do if my hair keeps coming loose when im rolling them (cuz my hair is pretty long) i twirl the ends around the curler first an roll it extremely tight, all the way up to your scalp..but a bobby pin or 2 in an you're set to go..it might be loose in a few places, like the back of your neck..thas just how it is..but the rest should be fine..good luck..

My hot rollers came with clips, but if theyre the ones that are hollow inside use a bobby pin.
