you must be 18 years old to enter into a contract, which is what you are doing when you get credit. open b is to have someone co-sign a account for you. that means if you cant or wont pay, they do. and i have never met a parent who was will to give their child a credit card in which they would be on the hook for the bill. if you really want a card, look into a pre-paid card at a store. works like a debit card, but you pay in up front, and when you run out of money, then you reload it.

it depends on YOU!
someone (seriously) put my dog on a credit card company's list and he is 3 years old.
He has been preapproved for over 14k in credit cards so far.
so age does not appear to be a an issue.
Hell being a human is not one either
Guess you just have to get on the credit list.
Ideally, you would be 18 so that the contract would be LEGAL but I started getting them at 17, (the college that I attended sold all of our names to a large credit provider).
Dont be in a huge rush to obtain credit cards.

You don't need credit. Credit is something marketed by banks and car dealers to make them money.

Save your pennies and pay cash. If you don't have the cash for a new shirt or pizza, don't pay hundreds of dollars for it by putting it on credit.

Instead of a $300-$400 car payment, drive $1000 car for a year. and pay cash for a $4000.00 car in a year, save another year and sell the car and pay $8000 cash for a nice car within 2 years that you own.

When you don't have car payments and credit card payments, guess what? You have CASH to buy things with.

Yes, I use to buy into the banks myths that I had to have credit. Wrong! You have to have discipline, then you will have CASH.
