would they need proof if there was NOT?

I do not have proof in the tangible sense. Yet I do not believe, just because i have been told. I have felt God's pressence and seen it in my life as well. I cannot deny what i have experienced even if other people present arguments otherwise. Iimagine it rained today (it did here) and you went outside and got soaked. Later on someone sees your wet clothes hanging out to dry and asks why they are wet. You explain that it rained, yet they do not believe you. For some reason they were asleep or otherwise did not notice that it rained and never even saw that the sidewalk was wet. Does the fact that they did not see it change the fact that it happened? No, even if you check the weather and it called for sunshine and their radar does not show that it rained, you still know that it did (this has happened to here before as well).

This may not be the best example, but it should at least convey the point. I know what i have felt, and i do not need scientific proof either direction, because I cannot deny the many instances in which God has helped me, comforted me, or otherwise shown his hand in my life.

Proof is different for each person. Super religious people believe they do have proof, based on their expeience. If if could be proven that there was NOT, it may make a difference to some, but then "proof" is up for debate, so for others, it would make no difference.

You really don't get it. God has revealed himself personally to every true born again believer. They don't need proof - they have the proof living inside of them in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

Evidence either way is not necessary for church people.

Their belief is based on emotion.
