Many anti-war Americans say they are proud of what the military does in Iraq but in the next breath will say that we are wasting our time and that the war is illegal. Many pro-war Americans will not join the military or will not encourage their children to join the military. Before everyone gets butt hurt I am talking about pro-war folks that are qualified for the military not ones that are not qualified.

Probably some in both camps are hypocrites. That said, here's how I can be anti-war and pro-troops. I am proud of what the *soldiers* are doing, not the military. How? I am proud that they were brave enough to join the military in the first place. I am proud that they are willing to risk their lives and to follow the orders of their leaders. Even though I disagree with many of those orders, that is not the troop's fault. The soldiers have given up more than most of us can imagine for our country--how can we not be proud of that, even with every BREATH we condemn the foolish reasoning that has asked our soldiers to do just that for a country that did not attack us and is now embroiled in a civil war?

It's not hypocritical to stand up for what you believe, and being anti-war is one point of view among several.

What is hypocritical is trying to be everything for everyone, and often only politicians do this.

Worse are those who have an opinion and have to lie to make everyone respect their opinion. I don't call them hypocrites; wrong word. I call them what they are.

It's not THAT necessary to have an opinion. People should have more self-respect than that.
