Depends on your location, the thickness (3/8, 1/2, 3/4"), etc. In the Detroit area, we pay between $8.05-8.90 at Home Depot and Lowes. Three years ago it was less than half that amount. I'm not sure why it jumped so drastically, but it drove up the cost of converting our attic to a master bedroom over $150.

I was in Lowe's yesterday and happened to notice the price of 1/2" 4x8 drywall sheets, it was $7.88 a sheet, in Ohio. It will vary depending on location. 3/8" was slightly more.
most stores won't list drywall prices online because they do fluccuate, find a local supplier and give them a call.

Well here in southern California, 1/2 inch sheet rock runs $9.90 4x8 sheets, 5/8 sheet rock is $14.60 per 4x8 sheet, 1/2 inch greenboard (water resistant) runs $14.65 per 4x8 sheet. You can also get 4x12 sheets of 1/2 inch which are priced at $14.85. I'm not sure if prices will vary depending on your location.

Well in case you didn't know there are several different types of drywall. Blue board, yellow board, white board, and many others. They range in price depending on type and the thickness. Expect to pay between $18-$40 a sheet depending on the type you need.

3/8" drywall is for contractors who double the drywall so you want 1/2" drywall or thicker. It's about $7.50 at Home Depot in USA for 1/2".

depends where you live. Check out your local building supplies. Nobody quotes without seeing the job. You want a good boarder/taper check out their finished jobs before you hire them. Get more than 1 quote.
